Budget Vacations
Description:
When is the best time to go on vacation ? to get the most bang for your buck? I heard It varies from destination to destination. That can mean shoulder season or even off season, or finding that window in high season when rates take a dip, if only for a couple of weeks.

It's worth the effort, because the savings can be anywhere from 20 to 50 per cent off high season prices.

I'm looking to go on a vacation in DEC, any suggestions from the community would be helpful.

I'm a little late in joining this discussion but here's my opinion when it comes to budget vacation.

There are several types of budget vacations. One is individual ‘do it yourself’ vacation and the others are all inclusive, cruise and flight/hotel package. All are ‘hit & miss’ with prices.

You have to be on the ball and constantly checking what is out there because prices fluctuate all the time and travel agents (such as myself) cannot keep up with the changes. For instance, a client wanted to go to Las Vegas. I checked the price one day, sent it to him and he didn't get back to me for another two weeks. Well, that delay ended up with a jump in prices. So, he waited a few more weeks to see if the price drops and it did. The problem with this scenario is availability. Either be prepared to go or be prepared to be disappointed.

Budget vacation planning requires a lot of hours that some people are not willing to spend time on.

If you have any questions about your next travel let me know.

Over in this part of the world (Dubai) we have something called happy hour, where between 1pm - 2pm they drop the prices on limited locations, but hey a good way to sell out the empty seats.

expedia ALWAYS has the cheapest tickets next to priceline (which has the cheapest flight and flight + hotel packages), but priceline doesn't allow non-US cities of origin....word of advice, start flying out of buffalo.

also, if anyone's ever interested in flying domestically within the US, southwest airlines has "ding" fares every so often (i.e. a one-way ticket may drop to 60 USD), but their destination cities are limited: http://www.southwest.com

Corporate Suites
Of course I must add:

www.malibuinvestments.ca

The best way to travel in Vancouver. The suites are double in size, half the cost, more convenient and brand new!

The linens are pure luxury. I would never stay in a hotel with those polyester bed covers and those thin blankets....

Malibu's Corporate Suites have those big fluffy duvets with duvet covers, lots of pillows and 600 thread count sheets. Pure luxury......

Most of the suites have great building amenities such as indoor pools, saunas, steam rooms, gyms, parks and so much more.

Montreal.

From Downtown toronto to Montreal you can take a bus that will cost you around $1.50/passenger, and it takes you into the heart of Montreal.

Lots to do, lots to see, and there are lots of hotels within the heart that cater to weekend visitors; avg prices around $80/night for a twin bed room with single occupancy.

Lets not get started on Montreal Night Life, and food... and if u get bored of the city, u can take a bus trip out to Tremblant, of Quebec City...

Definately worth a weekend getaway.
