| Just when you thought you got a handle on web 2.0, they spring web 3.0! So what exactly is web 3.0? The major web syndicates are calling it the "semantic web", ok cool, but then what exactly is the semantic web? No one actually knows what it is because its still being born. After filtering out a lotta technical rant, what can be said of a semantic web (or semantic net, to be precise) would be an online environment that understands the meaning and context of the content you consumed and produced, and used that understanding to facilitate your life - or that of the nearest advertiser. Ofcourse, search engines are right there front row center of it all. Yahoo! Google and Bing are already using big words like 'semanticization' and 'semanticize', these are the new $10 keywords up for sale!! |
